Thursday evening sends yet more Premier League action beamed to our televisions as the campaign begins to draw to a close. Eight teams will be playing their 36th game of the top flight campaign, and despite being late in the day there’s still plenty up for grabs.

Everton have an incredibly slim chance of Europa League qualification still spurring them on as they take on a relegation threatened Aston Villa in one of two early fixtures, but the King Power Stadium is likely to host the more intense affair. Leicester are embroiled in a heated battle for a top four spot in the Premier League, but they come up against an incredibly well organised Sheffield United outfit who are on track to qualify for continental competition themselves.

You don’t have to wait long for the action to continue after the final whistle is blown at Goodison Park and the King Power. Another of the top four contenders, Manchester United, pay a visit to a Crystal Palace side with very little to play for. Meanwhile, Southampton and Brighton contest a south coast derby with almost nothing but pride at stake, although The Seagulls do have a very small chance of being dragged into the relegation battle.

To get you in the mood for this quartet of action we’ve compiled some of our favourite picks from Virgin Bet’s Priceboosts on Thursday, and remember to check out all our Premier League predictions here.

Thursday Premier League Goalscorer Treble

Greenwood, Richarlison and Vardy all to score at 12/1

Manchester United prodigy Mason Greenwood has nailed down a starting position thanks to his emphatic goalscoring ability and, with four goals in his last four Premier League appearances, it would take a brave man to bet against him at Selhurst Park on Thursday.

Richarlison hasn’t been doing too badly either. The Toffees Brazilian star has scored in two of his last four outings for Everton and faces a struggling Aston Villa side that have conceded 65 league goals this season – only three fewer than bottom of the table Norwich.

Jamie Vardy may have endured something of a goalscoring drought earlier in 2020, but the Leicester talisman certainly looks back to his best now. The 31-year-old has scored four goals in his last three league appearances and hasn’t failed to hit the net since July 1st.

Everton vs Aston Villa

Everton to win and both teams to score at 3/1 (was 5/2)

Everton come into this clash unbeaten in their last ten Premier League home games, and they should have the upper hand when they welcome an Aston Villa side battling against the rising tide of relegation. The Villains have won only two of their 17 Premier League away days this season and, despite their positive weekend result, have lost four of their last five on the road.

That being said, we’re not expecting a clean sheet for the Toffees. Both teams have scored in five of their last six home league games and Aston Villa will be throwing themselves into this game as they battle for their top flight lives.

Everton defender Lucas Digne tackled

Leicester vs Sheffield United

David McGoldrick to score anytime at 9/2 (was 7/2)

David McGoldrick may not have had the most prolific season in front of goal, but the Irish attacker has certainly made his presence known since the resumption of English football.

McGoldrick netted twice in Sheffield United’s 3-0 thumping of Chelsea in his last appearance and has now scored three goals in his last four competitive appearances. He’s in form and coming up against a Foxes defence that have conceded in three of their last four, so 9/2 looks very generous.

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

3+ goals, 3+ cards and 12+ corners at 5/1

Manchester United showed their fleshy underbelly against Southampton on Monday as they faltered to a 2-2 draw, continuing a run of high scoring games involving the Red Devils. Each of their last five in the Premier League have featured at least three goals, and our Crystal Palace vs Manchester United predictions suggest another high scoring affair.

We’re expecting a busy night for the referee too. Manchester United’s clash with Southampton on Monday was a pretty feisty battle that saw four bookings handed out, and while neither of these teams are particularly aggressive the history of this tie is littered with yellow cards. In fact, each of the last four meetings have seen at least three cards handed out, with an average of 4.5 cards per game over these four hot-tempered matches.

Next up we look to the corner flags, and with Bruno Fernandes improving the Red Devils’ set piece delivery we’ve seen an uptick in the number of corners they have won. Their games for the season average a middle of the road 10.58 corners per game, but with Crystal Palace’s averaging over 11 corners per game we could see a high corner count on Thursday.

Southampton vs Brighton

Danny Ings to score first and Southampton to win at 9/2

There may be very little to play for here, but with the south coast pride at stake you can be certain that neither team will be giving any ground freely. Southampton have lost just one of their last six in the Premier League and have secured safety with a string of impressive results.

Many of the plaudits can go straight to Danny Ings. Southampton’s star striker has been sensational this season, netting 19 top flight goals and scoring four in his last six outings. He certainly likes to come flying out of the traps too, with an incredible 16 of his league goals opening the scoring this season. No other player in the league even comes close, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang next on the first goalscorers list with 11 to his name.
