Club football in Europe’s major leagues might be on hold during the international break, but across the pond in the MLS, the action is still hurtling along at breakneck speed.

This week, there is another programme of MLS fixtures to enjoy, with four exciting looking contests pencilled in for Thursday night and early Friday morning.

There are tons of terrific markets to explore in the bookies for each game, but we’ve decided to focus our attention on the always interesting anytime goalscorer selections this time around.

We’ve pulled a player from each of the impending mid-week MLS fixtures that we think has a great chance of getting on the scoresheet in their respective games.

Check out our MLS anytime goalscorer overnight betting tips specials below.

Valentín Castellanos – NEW YORK CITY vs Toronto FC

In the absence of their injured star striker and leading scorer Araujo Heber, 20-year old Argentine attacker Valentín Castellanos will shoulder much of the goal-getting responsibility for Eastern Conference leaders New York City this week.

Castellanos has already plundered 10 MLS goals for NYC this season, and five of those arrived inside the youngsters’ last seven appearances.

With five wins on the spin, Castellanos’ New York City are in sensational form ahead of the visit of a Toronto side unbeaten in seven. Our MLS analysts have tipped both teams to score and over 2.5 goals to be registered at the Yankee Stadium on Thursday, and Valentín Castellanos is certain to be right in the thick of the action.

Mason Toye – Houston Dynamo vs MINNESOTA UNITED

20-year old sensation Mason Toye is enjoying a breakout season for Minnesota United, and though his performances have shown tons of promise already, his two-goal display in his last outing against Los Angeles FC felt like a watershed moment in the youngster’s career.

Toye’s incredible brace of match-winning first half strikes in California will have sent his confidence through the roof ahead of Minnesota’s latest game at struggling Houston Dynamo this week, making the youngster well worth backing again in the anytime goalscorer market.

In addition, Toye hit the mark on his last visit to the BBVA Compass Stadium in June, scoring a dramatic late winner to help Minnesota knock Houston out of the United States Open Cup.

Andre Shinyashiki – COLORADO RAPIDS vs LA Galaxy

Having won each of their last two MLS games against New York RB and Seattle Sounders, Colorado Rapids have been tipped to beat an out of sorts LA Galaxy side this week by our MLS experts, and we think Andre Shinyashiki is the man to fire them to victory.

With star attacking duo Kei Kamara and Diego Rubio away on international duty with Sierre Leone and Chile respectively, Shinyashiki has picked up the goal-scoring mantle in style, hitting both goals in Rapids’ impressive triumph against Seattle Sounders on Sunday.

The 22-year old Brazilian was named MLS Player of the Week for his efforts, and the attacker’s self-belief will be buoyed further by his recent record against LA. Shinyashiki bagged the only goal of the game when Rapids beat Galaxy at the end of May in the clubs’ last encounter.

Jefferson Savarino – REAL SALT LAKE vs San Jose Earthquakes

Real Salt Lake’s tussle with San Jose Earthquakes this week pits a team with a strong recent home record against a team that has been dreadful on the road of late.

Our experts are tipping Earthquakes to lose their fourth successive MLS contest on the road at the Rio Tinto Stadium, and we’re backing Jefferson Savarino to have a hand in their demise.

The Venezuelan attacking midfielder does all his best work in front of the Salt Lake fans, and Savarino has scored 100% of this MLS goals this season in Real’s home matches.

The highly-regarded 22-year old has already scored once in his career against San Jose, and we expect him to make a similar match-defining impact when he faces them again this week.
