DC United vs Cincinnati
Best bet – Cincinnati to win at 11/5
FC Cincinnati etched their name into the Major League Soccer history books with their 3-0 win over Toronto earlier in the week, having become the first club since 2002 to win their first ten home games in an MLS campaign.
The TQL Stadium has undoubtedly become a fortress in 2023 and it is thanks to their perfect home record that they sit top of the overall MLS standings.
But Cincy have not exactly been poor on the road either with only Real Salt Lake (17) and Orlando (14) having collected more points than them (13) away from home in MLS this year.
Cincinnati show no sign of stopping in MLS and are worth backing at odds-against to win away to DC United, who have lost back-to-back fixtures against Atlanta and Real Salt Lake and will be without defender Steve Birnbaum, who is suspended, for this weekend’s clash.
Columbus Crew vs Nashville
Best bet – Both teams to score at 7/10
Two teams part of the chasing pack behind Cincy in the Eastern Conference standings are Columbus Crew and Nashville, who lock horns at Lower.com Field this weekend.
Columbus are flying with three wins from their last four matches but the last game they lost was against Nashville back in May.
Nashville prevailed 3-1 on that occasion and have lost only four of their 19 matches in MLS this year.
That makes it tricky to settle on a result in this one but there should be goals on the cards and both teams to score is a worthwhile selection.
Both teams have scored in 13 of Columbus Crew’s 18 league assignments this year, while Nashville’s last five fixtures have featured a total of 14 goals.
Nashville also possess the division’s top scorer Hany Mukhtar, who has found the net 13 times in MLS this year and could also be worth consideration in the goalscorer markets.
Charlotte vs Montreal
Best bet – Over 2.5 goals at 4/5
Charlotte have struggled over the last few weeks but that is largely down to their defence, which has the worst record across the entire MLS. They have conceded 35 goals in 19 outings and nine of those have come in the last three.
With a fairly prolific attack to balance this defensive frailty, the result has been 16 goals in their last three games and each of their last four at home have gone over the 2.5 goal line.
Montreal are a similarly entertaining side to watch, with 47 goals in their 18 matches so far. Each of their last four away games have produced at least three goals so we can expect a high-scoring affair at the Bank of America Stadium.
San Jose Earthquakes vs St Louis City
Best bet – San Jose Earthquakes to win at 23/20
St Louis City have hit a stumbling block recently and head to San Jose in the midst of a four-match winless streak in which they have taken just two points.
Away from home it gets even worse for the second-placed side in the West Conference. They have lost five of their last six competitive away games and come up against a San Jose side that thrives in front of the PayPal Park crowd.
The hosts are unbeaten at home this season, winning seven of their nine games. They can add an eighth win on Saturday night.
