The Premier League is back this weekend and that means the return of our cards and corners accumulators.

There are six games in the top flight on Saturday but I’ve avoided the early game between Fulham and Liverpool and this bet instead focuses on the 3pm kick offs and the late game.

You can use my selections for your own cards & corners accumulator, add them to a bet builder if you want to focus on one specific game, or back them all in our 49/1 fivefold bet below.

49/1 Cards & Corners Accumulator Tip

Bournemouth vs Aston Villa

Best cards & corners bet: Villa corners match bet (most corners) at 4/6

Bournemouth entertain Aston Villa as the Cherries make their return to the Premier League. We’ve covered the game in our Match Predictions section and are expecting a fairly open game with both teams scoring and potentially three points for the hosts, but the visitors can at least win the corners match bet.

Bournemouth finished second in the Championship last season but were only just inside the top 10 when it came to corners won and at home they averaged a modest 5.39 per-game. Villa actually won more corners away last season in the top tier, averaging 5.58 per-game, so I’m expecting them to win more than Bournemouth.

Leeds vs Wolves

Best cards & corners bet: Leeds -1 card handicap at 9/4

Leeds and Wolves meet at Elland Road in a clash that sees the worst behaved side from last season take on one of the best.

Leeds received 106 cards last term – 18 more than their closest rival in this regard – and at home they averaged exactly three per-game. Wolves picked up 63 in total and were actually better behaved on their travels, averaging 1.58 per-game, so the big price on Leeds with a -1 card handicap looks a risk worth taking for this fixture.

Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest

Best cards & corners bet: Newcastle over 1.5 cards at 4/6

Newcastle picked up 2.13 cards-per-game on average last season and may well see at least two players booked when they entertain Nottingham Forest.

Forest are playing at a higher level and have brought in a number of new faces over the summer, but they were one of the most fouled teams in the Championship last season and their opponents picked up an average of 2.98 cards-per-game, so over 1.5 for Newcastle on Saturday looks likely.

Tottenham vs Southampton

Best cards & corners bet: Southampton corner handicap +2 at 11/10

I was tempted to be bold and back Saints to win the corners match bet outright but the odds-against price on the visitors with a +2 start in the handicap market has real appeal here.

Southampton finished just five points clear of the drop zone last term but when it came to corners they were a top four team winning 234 overall, while only Manchester City and Liverpool won more corners on their travels.

Tottenham averaged 5.13 corners-per-game, while Saints averaged 6.16, so backing the visitors with a +2 corners handicap looks a strong play.

Everton vs Chelsea

Best cards & corners bet: James Tarkowski to be booked at 13/8

Everton face a tough opener against Chelsea and we may well see a few cards dished out. James Tarkowski should make his official debut for new club Everton and looks a good candidate for an anytime card, even at a relatively short price.

The defender picked up 11 yellow cards in 35 games for former club Burnley last season, including two in his final four appearances. Tarkowski will be eager to impress in his first game for Everton and that could lead to the 29-year-old being a bit too enthusiastic in his challenges against what is a very talented frontline.
