While all of Europe is seeing a battle for fourth, few can rival Italy’s. We took a detailed look at the top four race this week. With four rounds left to play and five sides fighting for one spot, there’s plenty of drama to come. That continues this weekend, which includes a major head to head in the Champions League chase.

However, it’s not just the Champions League on the line. The Golden Boot is up for grabs, while it’s crunch-time for the frontmen. Teams are relying on their strikers in the crucial final games. Ahead of a busy Sunday in Serie A, we’re looking towards the league’s in-form strikers. We’ve picked four anytime goalscorer bets, while we’re also casting an eye over the golden boot betting.

Serie A Golden Boot

Surprise leader Fabio Quagliarella top Serie A’s scoring charts, he’s three goals clear of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Sampdoria forward is 10/11 with bet365 to win the Golden Boot. He’s followed by Ronaldo – a 5/2 chance – despite the Portuguese sitting fourth overall. Krzysztof Piatek and Duvan Zapata have 21 strikes, putting them two shy of the lead. With another four games to go, they should all be pushing for glory this month.

Empoli vs Fiorentina

Sunday kicks off with one of the sides in relegation danger aiming to boost their survival hopes. The Azzurri have got a decent home record, while they’re facing a Fiorentina side who in awful form. The Viola are winless since mid-February, having lost their last three games. The visitors have been beaten in four of their last five trips. That’s partly why we’re siding with the hosts this weekend, which you can see in our match preview.

The Azzurri will be spurred on by forward Francesco Caputo, who has hit 15 goals for Empoli this term. He’s scored 11 of those at home, where Empoli have been in fantastic form. He’s scored five in their last six here, with Fiorentina coming into this one having shipped at least two goals in their last five trips. That has us backing him to score anytime at 5/6 with BetVictor.

Lazio vs Atalanta

Duvan Zapata Atalanta

At the top of the table, who sides who are in the top four race meet this weekend. Atalanta managed to jump into fourth with a victory on Monday. A victory in this trip would rule Lazio out of the top four fight. That doesn’t bode well for the hosts, who have lost eight of 12 meetings with the top seven this term. This could be an opening for the visitors, who we’ve backed in our match preview.

A strong display from Atalanta will likely revolve around impressive frontman Duvan Zapata. The Colombian has scored in two of his last three meetings with Lazio, including the winner as Atalanta won the reverse fixture. The forward should thrive on the road, as only Messi (15 goals) has better Zapata’s tally of 14 away league strikes this term. The 21 goal forward is 13/8 with Betfair to score in this one.

Parma vs Sampdoria

As far as the weekend’s fixtures go, Sampdoria’s clash at Parma isn’t the most glamorous or enticing. While neither side has a lot to push for, they come into this game aiming for a strong finish. That goes especially for forward Fabio Quagliarella, who could bring the golden boot back to Genoa this term. With the striker in tow, we’ve backed goals in their meeting on Sunday.

Quagliarella’s bid for glory has a real chance of overshadowing Sampdoria’s run in. However, his story is worthy of it. The experienced forward has had plenty of downs in recent years, but he’s emerged as a clinical leader for a talented but youthful Samp side. That he’s beating Cristiano Ronaldo in the scoring charts is incredible. He may be odds-on to win the Golden Boot, but you can get a slightly better 11/10 with Betfred on the striker to score at Parma this weekend.

Napoli vs Cagliari

Dries Mertens celebrating for Napoli

Napoli are aiming to wrap up the season on a high after a recent blip. However, there’s little suggestion that Cagliari will be causing problems here. With a terrible away record, we are going with a pretty limp defeat for the Sardinians in their visit to the San Paolo this weekend. However, just who is going to fire the hosts to glory?

We expect Napoli to look towards Dries Mertens in this one. The striker has scored eight goals in seven meetings with Cagliari, including four in three home games. His opener last weekend made it two goals in two, while he’s scored in his last three games at the San Paolo. We are backing Mertens to find the back of the net again this weekend, with the Belgian priced at 5/6 with bet365.

Anytime Scorer Accumulator

These four anytime goalscorer picks come to 17/1 with BetVictor. The four are aiming to carry on some good form this season, having racked up 72 league goals between them this term. The four are all among the leading contenders to notch in their matches, so there are certainly some decent value picks among them. With two of the golden boot hopefuls involved, this seems like a well-priced accumulator which also spans the day’s Serie A action.
