We might still be a week away from the return of the three major UEFA competitions but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to look forward to this week.

There is a host of European cup competitions taking place, along with a rogue Premier League fixture and some EFL action and this week’s Long Haul accumulator is focusing on five odds-on favourites that should get the job done between Monday and Friday.

14/1 Long Haul accumulator

Monday – Monza to beat Sampdoria

Sampdoria are second from bottom in Serie A with a miserly nine points from 20 games and their 2-0 defeat to Atalanta last time out made it five losses in a row in all competitions, with the struggling side failing to score a single goal in that run.

Monza, meanwhile, are enjoying something of a purple patch and beat Juventus in their last outing. They are unbeaten in six and have won three of those, while they thrashed Sampdoria 3-0 in the return fixture in October.

Tuesday – Juventus to beat Salernitana

It’s safe to say Juventus aren’t having the best of campaigns this year but they should have more than enough to defeat a struggling Salernitana side on Tuesday.

The Old Lady beat Lazio in the Coppa Italia at the weekend and have won two of their last four competitive games, while Salernitana have lost seven of their last nine in all competitions, conceding 25 goals in the process.

Wednesday – Man Utd to beat Leeds

Manchester United have won 13 of their last 15 games in all competitions and their only defeat in this three-month period came away to Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Erik ten Hag’s side have won 13 successive home games and come up against a Leeds side that have won just one of their last nine top-flight away games, losing six of them.

Thursday – Lens to beat Lorient

Thursday takes us to the Coupe de France and Lorient could be up against it against Ligue 1 high-flyers Lens. The visitors sit third in the French top flight and are unbeaten in seven competitive away games.

They have lost just one of their last 16 competitive away games and have won half of those in a run stretching back to April 2022. Lorient lost 4-2 at the weekend and have only won two of their last seven competitive home games, losing on three occasions.

Friday – Wolfsburg to beat Schalke

Schalke are in dire straits in the Bundesliga and remain rock-bottom of the table after a draw on Saturday. They have taken just 11 points from their 19 games so far, losing on 12 occasions.

Wolfsburg are chasing European qualification and have won six of their last seven league fixtures, scoring 23 goals on the way and beating Mainz, Hoffenheim and Hertha Berlin away from home.
