World Cup 2018: Full Tournament Fixture List Plus Warm Up Match Schedule
Born in the south east of Ireland, Simon put his life-long love of football to good use when he started a successful independent blog in 2010. That opened up an alternative route to a career in journalism, and having had work published across a number of sites and publications, Simon joined the staff at Spotlight Sports Group in 2018.
Over the next month, teams will be putting the finishing touches to their preparations ahead of the World Cup 2018 tournament in Russia. The friendly games represent a chance for managers to experiment both tactically and in terms of personnel ahead of the serious stuff in the Finals.
The World Cup itself kicks off on Thursday June 14th when Russia play Saudia Arabia in the tournament’s inaugural game in Moscow. A total of sixty four matches will be played in all during the competition, with the Final scheduled for Sunday July 15th in the Russian capital.
