Aek Larnaca vs West Ham United Predictions
- West Ham have won five of their last six European away games
- AEK Larnaca have won two of their last 11 home European fixtures outside the qualifying phase
- AEK Larnaca have conceded a least two goals in three of their four European home matches this season
Hammers happy to go back to Europe
David Moyes is the favourite to be the next Premier League manager to get the sack after Saturday’s shambolic loss to Brighton, but the Scot should enjoy some respite with the return of the Europa Conference League.
While the Hammers can’t buy a win in the Premier League, they boast a 100 per cent record in Europe this season, winning eight out of eight in the Conference League.
The Londoners are clearly better suited to continental competition than domestic football having also reached the Europa League semi-finals last term, and it would be a major disappointment if their first meeting with Cpyriot opposition didn’t end in victory.
Larnaca lack upset ingredients
Opponents Larnaca have never got this far in Europe before and will certainly be highly motivated for this encounter, their first against a side from England.
They edged past Dnipro in the Conference League playoff round having dropped into the competition after finishing third in their Europa League group. It was a tough section but their inability to win once in three attempts at home is a concern with Rennes and Fenerbahce both leaving Cyprus with maximum points.
Larnaca shipped seven goals across those three group games and a West Ham attack that’s scored freely in Europe can make it four wins to nil in five Conference League away games this season.
