AFC Bournemouth vs Barnsley Predictions
- Bournemouth have scored twice in four of their five Championship games this term.
- The Cherries have averaged 1.76 goals per game at home since the start of last season.
- Barnsley have conceded twice in four of their last nine away trips in the Championship.
Cherries picked to resume prolific goal scoring form
AFC Bournemouth drew a blank away to Hull prior to the international break, but The Cherries are are backed to resume their impressive form in front of goal against Barnsley this Saturday afternoon.
The hosts have made an unbeaten start to the new season with two wins and three draws posted from their opening five games, and they’ll be confident of banking further points here against a Barnsley side who are yet to really find their rhythm under new boss Markus Schopp.
Nonetheless, The Tykes have lost just one of their opening five fixtures (W1, D3), so Bournemouth hardly represent great value at a general 5/6 based on both sides’ recent volume of draws.
Bournemouth are marginally preferred for the result, but a better bet looks to be getting behind The Cherries to net over 1.5 goals at evens.
Prior to their trip to Hull last time out, Scott Parker’s men bagged twice in their first four league games, while they’ve also netted at least twice in six of their last nine outings at Vitality Stadium.
And Bournemouth’s prolific streak stretches back further on their own turf, with The Cherries averaging 1.76 goals per game at this venue since the beginning of last season.
With Barnsley shipping two goals in four of their last nine league starts on the road including here last term, Bournemouth to score over 1.5 goals is a confident selection for this Saturday’s action and we’re also tipping up a 2-1 score-line in favour of the hosts.
