Italy strong on home soil

Italy have been solid in recent times. They dramatically missed out on World Cup qualification for Qatar but since then have shown that they are one of the top teams in Europe as they aim to defend their crown at the European Championships.

They finished runners-up to England, who they beat in the Euro 2020 final, in qualifying for this year’s event and that was predominantly down to their solid home record. The Azurri won three of their four home qualifiers and were only edged 2-1 by England in the other.

Any replication of that form should be enough to see off a Turkey team reeling from a 6-1 loss to Austria last time out.

Turkey can find the scoresheet

Turkey managed to top a Euro 2024 qualifying group that contained Croatia and Wales but their two friendlies since then have left plenty to be desired.

The Atlas-Stars have suffered away defeats to Hungary and Austria, the latter of which won 6-1, and were also beaten 4-2 by Japan last year.

Side with Italy to win this one but correct score backers should note that Turkey have scored in three of their last four games, take a 2-1 win for the hosts.
