Monaco’s excellent run can continue

It’s been an almost perfect start for Monaco this season, picking up 19 points out from a possible 21 in their opening seven league games, with a draw against Lens being the only blip in that run and even that victory only denied by a late equaliser. Les Monégasques have transferred this form to Europe, too, picking up a crucial win over Barcelona.

Next up is Lille, who have also enjoyed a good start to the season but may come under significant pressure at the Stade Louis II after losing twice already this season.

Les Dogues may be backed to lose, but they are not the type of team to sit back and they could push Monaco all the way on Friday.

They beat Real Madrid before the international break, but have lost three of their last four away games. They have conceded exactly twice in two of these and, with Monaco conceding in each of their last four at home, a 2-1 win for the hosts looks a good bet.
