Wolverhampton to Win

Reason for tip

Wolves have won three of their four Premier League meetings with Bournemouth. The Cherries have lost three straight league games and the visitors have managed to turn the corner with positive results over the last week. Scott Parker has lost 18 of his 27 home games in the Premier League.

Wolverhampton 2-1

Reason for tip

Bournemouth have conceded 16 goals already this season and they should struggle to keep Wolves at bay here. The visitors have seen both teams score in their two games over the course of the last week, while they won by a single goal home and away when Bournemouth were last in the top-flight.

AFC Bournemouth vs Wolverhampton Predictions

  • Bournemouth have lost 16-0 across their last three league games
  • Wolves have won three of their last four Premier League meetings with Bournemouth
  • Scott Parker has one of the worst home records of any Premier League managers
  • Jimenez has scored in every appearance against Bournemouth

Late blow for Wolves

Having gone 10 Premier League games without a victory, Wolves were dealt a blow when Newcastle levelled late in their 1-1 draw on Sunday. They looked on course for a win when Raul Jimenez scored a second goal with nine minutes to go, but that strike was overturned by VAR.

Wolves put in a good display which built on a much-needed midweek success. They beat Preston in the EFL Cup days before that draw, which suggests Bruno Lage’s side are turning a corner. Heading to Bournemouth seems like the perfect place to make that happen.

Woeful start for Cherries

Bournemouth have conceded 16 Premier League goals in their first four games this season. That’s the most by a side at this point in a top-flight campaign since 1963-64. Those goals against have come in their last three league games, which they lost 16-0 on aggregate.

They lost 3-0 to Arsenal in their last home game, another blow for Scott Parker. Of Premier League managers to take charge of at least 10 home matches, only Daniel Farke (0.67) has a lower points-per-game return than the Cherries’ boss (0.70). Parker has won five, drawn four and lost 18 of his 27 home games in charge of Fulham and Bournemouth.

Wolves and Jimenez to bounce back

After a solid display on Sunday, Wolves have a great chance to respond here. Bournemouth are vulnerable and their record against Wolves  is poor. The visitors are unbeaten in all four of their Premier League meetings with the Cherries (W3 D1).

Wolves won more away games than home games last term and they can bounce back with a victory on Sunday. With the Cherries struggling and Parker struggling at this level, the visitors look good value for a victory.

Jimenez has a great chance to bounce back after his goal was struck off at the weekend. The Mexican forward has scored in all four of his Premier League appearances against Bournemouth, while he found the net in last week’s win over Preston. Back him to find the net, with a 2-1 away win my correct score prediction.
