England to Win and Over 4.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Andorra are one of the weakest teams in international football and while England boss Thomas Tuchel looks set to experiment, the Three Lions should have far too much for the minnows.

England 5-0

Reason for tip

England claimed a 5-0 win in Andorra four years ago without getting out of second gear and even gruelling domestic seasons should not prevent Tuchel’s side from running up a similar margin of success on Saturday.

Andorra vs England Predictions

  • Andorra have never scored in eight matches against England
  • The Three Lions have kept clean sheets in six of their last eight matches
  • San Marino are the only team Andorra have beaten in their last 25 games

Expect Tuchel to shuffle the pack

England have made a strong start to their qualification campaign for next year’s World Cup and even the demands of strenuous domestic seasons should not stop them easing to a victory over Andorra on Saturday.

Many members of Thomas Tuchel’s squad will be looking forward to a couple of weeks lying on a beach and the calendar has been kind by offering up a trip to one of the weakest teams in international football after a perfect start against Albania and Latvia.

The manager who took the reins from Gareth Southgate following the defeat in last summer’s Euros final to Spain, is likely to shuffle the pack in a similar manner to what his predecessor did on their last visit four years ago.

Then, key operators such as Harry Kane and Declan Rice were able to stay on the bench and England were still able to post a 5-0 win and a victory of such a wide margin would not be a surprise on Saturday.

Ivan Toney could be one player to keep an eye on after he was surprisingly reintroduced to the line-up after a strong first season in the Saudi Pro League.

The former Brentford man has earned his chance after 23 goals for Al Ahli this season and there is scope for him to make things extremely difficult for the Andorran defence if Kane is given another night off.

Andorra continue to struggle

The advent of the Nations League was supposed to ensure minnows were not thrashed on a regular basis but while Andorra have been more competitive, they have still struggled.

A 2-0 win over San Marino has been the only occasion in their last 11 matches that they have found the net and the opening two games of the World Cup qualifiers prodiced a familar story as they lost 1-0 at home to Latvia and 3-0 on a trip to Albania.

It would be a huge shock if they were able to put up much resistance against England, who have scored 25 goals in their six fixtures against the Principality.

They lost 5-0 to Spain in a post-season friendly 12 months ago, which offers a strong indication of what may occur against another one of Europe’s top sides this weekend.
