Another away loss for Metz

Angers should be backed to beat an out-of-form Metz at home in Ligue 1 on Sunday. The visitors have been poor on the road this season, with just one win in ten away games.

Angers are 11th in Ligue 1 and seven places above rock-bottom Metz, with the visitors having won just three of their 19 games this season.

Angers have found some form in front of goal, scoring an average of 2.33 goals a game in their three Ligue 1 home games against teams in the bottom five this season.

Their current form is underwhelming. They have lost six of their last seven Ligue 1 matches, including their last two. They have also sustained nine reverses in their last 11 away games.

The visitors have looked vulnerable in defence. No team has conceded more goals in Ligue 1 this season than Metz’s 45 in 19 games, and they have been disappointing away from home, conceding an average of three goals per game.

With Angers having the fewest overs games in Ligue 1 this term and two of their six wins coming by a 2-0 scoreline, a home win by that score looks the best correct-score option.
