Cavani’s return makes Uruguay more potent
Argentina face Uruguay in one of the biggest battles of the Copa America 2021 on Saturday morning.
Lionel Scaloni’s side have come under fire back home for their failure to beat Chile in their opener on the back of a few sloppy displays in World Cup qualifying.
So the pressure is on the Albiceleste as they take on their rivals from across the River Plate.
Uruguay failed to score in either of their recent qualifiers for Qatar 2022, but can welcome back Edinson Cavani from suspension for this one.
Cavani showed brilliant form when scoring nine times in his last 10 games for Manchester United and should greatly lift the prospects of victory for the Sky Blue.
Prior to Cavani’s red card against Brazil, Uruguay had arguably put in their best away display in years when clobbering Colombia 3-0 in Barranquilla.
If they can recapture that level in this tournament then who knows how far they can go to repeating their last Copa America success of 2011.
Argentina could be ripe for an upset here and we like the odds available for Uruguay to take the three points in the Draw No Bet market.
Oscar Tabarez is a wily coach and can outsmart his inexperienced counterpart Scaloni here to ensure Uruguay don’t get off to a losing start.
Argentina may struggle to break their opponents down if – as we suspect – they fall behind, so we like the look of 1-0 to Uruguay in the correct score betting.
