Rangers looking to take control in Group C

Rangers have a chance to pull clear in Europa League Group C when they head to Aris Limassol on Thursday.

The Ibrox outfit claimed an impressive victory over Real Betis at home in their opener, and three points in Cyprus would potentially see them move to the top of the group after two games.

Aris struggling in Europe

Aris are in poor form overall and are winless in four games ahead of Thursday’s fixture, while they have generally struggled in Europe with four defeats in their last five games.

The Cypriot side went down 3-2 at Sparta Prague in their own Group C opener but in truth were lucky to only lose by a one-goal margin.

Rangers went down 3-1 at Aberdeen over the weekend and were perhaps already looking towards this gane. Prior to that loss, they had recorded four wins in a row and can return to winning ways on Thursday.

Hosts can grab a goal

Aris have played in seven European games this season including qualifiers and have only failed to score in one of those, while they have only failed to score in one of their last nine overall so they should be able to get on the scoresheet.

Rangers have hardly been prolific this season in front of goal and have only scored more than twice in two of their 14 games across all competitions, so a 2-1 win for the visitors is the correct score prediction.
