Armenia vs Greece Predictions

Armenia lost 3-0 away at Finland last time out while Greece secured a 2-1 victory at home against Bosnia-Herzegovina, but Friday’s guests cannot finish in the automatic qualifying spots whatever the results of their final two group games and Armenia are going to need a lot of help from other teams if they are to claim second place ahead of Finland.

All of the stats suggest that we will see goals being scored at both ends of the pitch in Friday’s match and we’ve backed Armenia to claim a narrow 2-1 win.

Both teams scored when these two countries met in June for their reverse qualifier, which Armenia won 3-2 back in June. Both teams also scored in four of Armenia’s and three of Greece’s last five matches, so you can see why we’ve backed goals for both teams in Friday’s clash.

The performances of both countries heading into Friday’s match add weight to our prediction for both teams to score, as Armenia have only kept one clean sheet in their last 10 attempts and Greece have only kept one clean sheet in their last 9 matches. Greece have also scored in five of their last eight away games, while Armenia have conceded goals in five of their last seven home games.

The form of both nations provides even more reasons to back a 2-1 win for the hosts this Friday, as Armenia have scored at least two goals in six of their last eleven matches and Greece have conceded two goals in six of their last nine away games. Armenia have won four of their last seven at home and Greece have lost six of their last nine on the road, and with the hosts still being able to qualify for the automatic qualifying spots they have even more motivation for the points as well as the home advantage.

We’re confident that both teams will score in Friday’s clash and we have predicted a final scoreline of 2-1 in favour of the hosts. Armenia head into the game as the clear form favourites with three wins from their last six matches and have outperformed Greece so far during qualifying. The visitors have a poor record on the road and both teams haven’t been able to keep many clean sheets of late, which is why we have gone with a 2-1 win for Armenia.
