Armenia vs Turkey Predictions

  • Armenia have lost five consecutive competitive games, four of them by more than a one-goal margin.
  • The hosts have conceded 17 goals across those five contests.
  • Turkey have won four of their last six competitive matches by two goals or more.

Turkey eye Euro hat-trick

Turkey have become regulars on the biggest continental stage of late, and they are bidding to reach a third consecutive edition of the Euros in 2024 after missing out on a spot at the Qatar World Cup. Stefan Kuntz’s men lost out in a play-off against Portugal for that tournament, but they will be confident of going one better after receiving a kind draw for this cycle. A short trip to Yerevan to face Armenia represents the ideal chance to start with a win – and Turkey should do so with ease.

Indeed, Turkey have won six of their last eight matches, with their last four competitive victories all coming by at least a two-goal margin, netting 14 times in those wins. Kuntz’s men hit 27 goals in 10 games in the World Cup qualifiers, only finishing two points behind the Netherlands – who they beat 4-2 on their own turf. With the likes of Cengiz Under and Hakan Calhanoglu providing the creativity, they should have few problems against poor opponents on Saturday.

Armenia, meanwhile, finished rock-bottom of their second-tier Nations League group last year, shipping 17 goals in six contests against Scotland, Ukraine and the Republic of Ireland. New boss Oleksandr Petrakov will need to improve their dire defensive record if they are to enjoy any kind of respectable campaign this time around. Armenia have lost five competitive games in a row, four of them by more than a one-goal margin, while they were also beaten 9-0 in Norway last year.

Armenia set for heavy defeat

With Turkey possessing a strong attacking record and Armenia posting a series of dire results of late, backing the visitors to beat a -1 handicap en route to victory appears a no-brainer for Saturday’s game.

Meanwhile, a 3-0 Turkey win could represent a decent correct score prediction – Armenia have conceded three goals or more in each of their last four games, excluding friendlies.
