Arsenal -1

Reason for tip

Arsenal cruised past Crystal Palace 4-1 in their last game before the international break and can return to action with a comfortable win by at least two goals against Leeds, who have struggled on the road this term and are at risk of relegation.

Arsenal 3-1

Reason for tip

Arsenal have won four of their last six Premier League games by at least two goals and should win by that buffer in this one, so a 3-1 home win is a decent correct score prediction.

Arsenal take initiative in Premier League title race

Arsenal bulldozed their way past Crystal Palace 4-1 in their final game before the international break and they can again run out comfortable winners at the Emirates upon their return to action in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta’s men head into this weekend with an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League, albeit having played one game more than second-placed Manchester City.

But they may sniff an opportunity this weekend with City facing a challenging home contest against Liverpool on Saturday.

The Gunners were also knocked out of the Europa League by Sporting Lisbon on penalties before the international break and are no longer in the FA Cup so the Premier League remains their sole focus.

Home comforts have been key for the Gunners

They have enjoyed a stunning season in the competition, recording 22 wins in 28 matches, but their April fixture list features matches with Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea, so they will know now is the time for them to put their foot down.

And home games against relegation-threatened teams like Leeds are contests they simply have to win.

Arsenal have been especially imperious at the Emirates Stadium this season, though, winning 11, drawing two and losing only one of their 14 home games in the Premier League and their only defeat was against fellow title-chasers Manchester City.

Gracia’s improving Leeds could struggle to match hosts

While Arsenal are in pole position to land their first Premier League title since the 2003-04 season, Leeds are simply fighting to stay in the top flight.

In February, they made the decision to get rid of American Jesse Marsch as manager, bringing in former Watford man Javi Gracia in his place and the Spaniard’s first four league games in charge have yielded two wins, one draw and one defeat.

That is not a bad return and the run featured a stalemate with Brighton, who are in contention for the European places.

But unfortunately for Leeds, Arsenal are on a different stratosphere to those below Manchester City at the moment and a comfortable win for the Gunners is expected.

They have won three of their last four matches by at least three goals and are worth a bet at -1 goal on the handicap – to win by two or more goals – when they welcome Leeds to north London.

As far as a correct score bet goes, Leeds could get on the scoresheet so 3-1 looks a decent prediction.
