Milan under pressure to respond

AC Milan need to find a reaction to last Sunday’s late defeat to Napoli, which effectively ended their Scudetto hopes, when they entertain Udinese at San Siro on Saturday.

Now nine points off top spot and down to third, Max Allegri’s side must focus on securing their Champions League place, with Como, Juventus and Roma all closing in.

The Rossoneri have struggled for consistency, losing three of their last six league outings after previously going 24 unbeaten. They also haven’t always convinced against bottom‑half teams, owning only the seventh‑best record in those fixtures. Still, they have dominated this matchup recently, winning the last four meetings with Udinese by an 11‑2 aggregate.

Udinese offer a threat with Davis

Udinese arrive in decent shape after a gritty 0-0 draw with in‑form Como, extending their push for a top‑half finish. Kosta Runjaic’s men have tightened up defensively and travel well, with only seven teams winning more away games this season.

With Keinan Davis returning from suspension and already on 10 league goals, the visitors carry enough attacking punch to trouble a Milan side showing signs of vulnerability. Back the visitors to get on the scoresheet against a Milan side that has kept only two clean sheets in their last eight.

And the Little Zebras could snatch a point if Milan’s out-of-sorts strikeforce continues to slump. Christian Pulisic has not scored in 13 games and the Rossoneri have only found the back of their opponents’ net more than once in one of their last six home games, so take a chance on a 1-1 draw.
