Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest Predictions
- Arsenal won 14 of their 19 Premier League home games last term.
- The Gunners won the corresponding fixture last season 5-0.
- Forest picked up just eight points on their travels last term.
Arsenal begin title quest with Forest visit
Arsenal will be looking to challenge for the Premier League crown once again this season after being denied by Manchester City last year and they should be able to make a perfect start by seeing off Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Forest had the worst away record in the league last year, securing just eight point from 19 games, and they were beaten 5-0 when they visited the Emirates Stadium in October – but they did manage some revenge by claiming a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture in May.
Gunners can win with room to spare
Arsenal have already made a statement of intent for the season ahead by claiming the Community Shield title via a shootout win against Manchester City and they will be looking to start their Premier League bid with a bang.
The North Londoners have recruited well over the summer with the captures of Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice and should be expected to challenge at the top again, and they can lay down a bit of a marker on opening weekend by beating a -1 handicap against Forest.
A -2 handicap does offer some appeal but these opening rounds of games can throw up some surprises and Forest have done some shrewd business themselves over the summer so sticking with a -1 handicap looks the better option for the main bet.
Forest capable of scoring
The visitors may have had the worst road record in the league last season but they did at least score in six of their final seven trips, hitting six goals across their last four.
The Gunners managed just one clean sheet in their pre-season campaign and conceded in seven of their final eight home games last term, so Forest may be able to get among the goals themselves and a 4-1 win for the hosts looks a reasonable correct score prediction.
There are a few goal contenders for Arsenal and one of their new boys can get on the scoresheet on Saturday. Havertz looked fairly sharp in the Community Shield against City with two shots, both of which were on target, and he can open his Arsenal account with an anytime effort against Forest this weekend.
