Defences to come out on top at Miyagi Stadium

Australia take on Egypt at the 2020 Olympics on Thursday and both sides are in with a chance of reaching the knockout stages.

The Olyroos have three points from their two games so far after a 2-0 victory over Argentine, followed by a 1-0 loss to Spain.

Egypt have one point so far after opening the tournament with a 0-0 draw with Spain, before going down 1-0 to Argentina.

This may well be a low scoring affair and under 2.5 goals jumps out as the best bet in this evenly-matched contest.  Egypt are yet to score in Japan but have shown real resilience at the back, while Australia have also been stronger in defence than they have been going forward and none of the four games involving these two sides have seen over 2.5 goals scored so far.

Only a win will do for this young Pharaohs side so they should be more adventurous than they have been in their previous games but we think Australia can soak up that pressure having conceded just once in games against better opponents and 0-0 has a chance in the correct score market.
