Linfield’s first leg advantage should carry them through

Linfield stunned Bosnian champions Borac Banja Luka 4-0 in the first leg of their Europa Conference League qualifying tie but are unlikely to be as dominant in the return fixture.

Borac are far stronger at home than they are away and they dragged Romania’s CFR Cluj into extra time with a 2-0 win at home in Champions League qualifying earlier this summer, before ultimately losing the tie 4-3 on aggregate after extra time. 

We may see a similar reaction from the Bosnian club on Thursday, even if a four-goal deficit does look a bridge too far, and we’re expecting Borac to win on the night but fall short overall.

Borja have five clean sheets in their last nine home games but are likely to throw men forward as they chase an improbable comeback, as such we feel a 3-1 home win has a chance in the correct score market.
