Borussia Dortmund Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Dortmund need only a draw to top this section and should get that result against the Parisians, who showed their weakness playing in intense atmospheres when losing 4-1 at Newcastle earlier in the campaign. The hosts eased past the Magpies 2-0 in their last home group game and should be able to limit PSG to, at most, a point.

Borussia Dortmund 2-1

Reason for tip

PSG have a strong attack, headlined by Kylian Mbappe who has netted 18 times in 19 games this season, and they should score in defeat to add to the goals total. Three of Dortmund’s last five home matches have gone over 3.5 goals and plenty of net-bulging action should be expected.

Borussia Dortmund vs PSG Predictions

  • Dortmund have kept a clean sheet in their last four Champions League home matches
  • PSG have won nine of their last 11 games in all competitions
  • Five of PSG’s last six away games have gone over 2.5 goals

Dortmund destined for the top

Paris Saint-Germain need a win to ususurp their hosts at the top of Group F while a point for Dortmund would be enough to see them top this Champions League section and, backed by the infamous Yellow Wall, they should get the result they need to go through to the knockout phase as group winners.

PSG were easily intimidated by the cauldron-like atmosphere in their earlier group stage match at Newcastle where they lost 4-1 and the ambience in Dortmund will be similar to what the Parisians faced on Tyneside, which could lead to another poor result for Luis Enrique’s side.

Dortmund beat the Magpies 2-0 in their last Champions League home and have been solid at Signal Iduna Park of late, also beating the likes of Borussia Monchengladbach and Hoffenheim recently and going four games without conceding on their own patch in this tournament.

Goals galore in Germany

Although, despite that strong defensive record, they will have their work cut out in containing PSG’s tricky attackers, especially with Emre Can missing through suspension, and the goals could flow on Wednesday.

Five of the visitors’ last six away matches have gone over 2.5 goals and a similar level of net-bulging action should occur at Signal Iduna Park.

Three of Dortmund’s last five home matches have seen the ball hit then net on four or more occasions and, with so much on the line for both sides, an expansive match could unfold.
