Bordeaux vs PSG Predictions

Walking a tightrope

A 3-2 victory at home to Reims last weekend may have ended a five-game winless run for Bordeaux but they are lingering precariously above the relegation zone on 12 points.

Vladimir Petkovic’s side are the draw specialists in France taking a point in four of their last six league games. I’m sure they would take a draw right now in this one but they should give themselves a chance at least, by getting on the scoresheet.

Mauricio Pochettino won’t be overlooking this game and he better hope his PSG players aren’t either. The Parisians hold an eight-point lead atop the Ligue 1 table after a 2-1 turnaround win over Lille last weekend.

However, PSG haven’t won either of their last two games immediately following a Champions League outing and after a 2-2 draw in Leipzig, they are now winless in three on the road.

PSG have kept a clean sheet in just one of their five away league matches this term but 10 of their last 11 wins on their travels have seen them score two goals or more.

Pochettino will be hoping that side of his team turns up just like they did when they beat the two sides directly below Bordeaux in the table in Brest (4-2) and Reims (2-0).

Goals to be scored

Despite going on to drop points Bordeaux managed to take the lead in three of their four draws. The home side have scored 38% of their goals in the last 15 minutes of games which suggests they never lie down either.

As for PSG, they are averaging over two goals per league game through 12 matches and should have enough to dig out a narrow 2-1 win.
