Stuttering Borussia Dortmund

The hosts aren’t in the best of form leading up to this one, they drew to Bochum last time out but came from behind to do so and lost to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga match prior to that one. There was a 5-0 win over Besiktas in the Champions League between those two sides but domestic wins are what Marco Rose and his men need if they want to sustain a title challenge. They couldn’t have wished for a better game than against strugglers Greuther Fürth who have been woeful this season overall.

Arguably the Bundesliga’s worst-ever performers are actually coming off the back of a 1-0 win over Union Berlin at the weekend, courtesy of a Håvard Nielsen strike. It will do them the world of good as it was their first-ever Bundesliga home win and it saw them finally keep a clean sheet. Despite the fact it was a good result, it does feel more like a lucky result rather than earned as Union still had a hatful of chances. The visitors are conceding 3.1 goals per game so far this season on average and welcome a Dortmund team who welcome back Erling Braut Haaland.

Dortmund to steamroll over last-placed Greuther Furth

The difference in quality between these two is frightening and eyebrows will be raised if Dortmund don’t claim a comfortable win here. They’ll want to restore some confidence and make a statement, plus, Haaland will see this as an opportunity to notch a couple here. We’re expecting Dortmund to cover a -2.5 handicap as they bring Greuther Fürth crashing back down to earth.
