Borussia Monchengladbach vs SC Freiburg Predictions
Freiburg Favoured to Pile More Pressure on Gladbach
Freiburg are the best bet to win at Borussia-Park on Sunday, with Monchengladbach still searching for their first home win of the season. The hosts have won just one of their last ten Bundesliga games at home.
They are ten places above rock-bottom Monchengladbach, with the two sides separated by five points. The hosts have yet to win this season, while Freiburg sit ninth with two wins, one draw and two defeats.
Monchengladbach lost 6-4 to Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend in their last Bundesliga outing and could not break their losing habit. This was a disappointing result for Monchengladbach, who had been priced at 19/10 to win. They have now lost two of the three games this season in which they’ve shipped the first goal (67%).
Monchengladbach are without a win in 12 Bundesliga games and have lost five of their last seven. They have been beaten in their last two home matches.
The hosts’ struggles in front of goal are a concern. Monchengladbach have failed to score in three of their last four Bundesliga home games.
The hosts are having defensive problems. Monchengladbach have conceded in eight of their last ten Bundesliga home games and have failed to keep a clean sheet in 17 of their last 20 league games. Their last shutout was against Hamburg in August.
Freiburg come into this game in good form, having been winners on four of their last five Bundesliga away days. They have also gone unbeaten in nine of the last ten head-to-head meetings with Monchengladbach. In contrast, Monchengladbach have had four reverses in their last six home games.
Monchengladbach are out of form, and backing their opponents during their current run of five defeats in seven Bundesliga games would have resulted in a profit of 4.12 units.
The 2-1 away win for Freiburg looks a decent correct-score bet. They were 2-1 winners against Monchengladbach last time they met in the Bundesliga and 12 of Freiburg’s last 14 league games have had three or more goals.
