Bradford vs Forest Green Rovers Predictions

With the new league season now back in full swing, the turnaround time between matches is once again meaning that sides have little time to prepare for their next challenge and are largely running on momentum. This weekend sees two sides playing in their third match in eight days as Bradford City look to continue their good start to the campaign against a Forest Green Rovers side who will not exactly be disappointed with the way their own start has gone so far.

Bradford City are our tip to lift the League Two title come the end of the season but their campaign got off to a pretty slow start with two draws coming in their opening two contests. However, the hosts have started to look like the team that we believe they are in their most recent outings as they comfortably dispatched of Oldham last weekend and followed that up with a tight, 1-0 win away at Stevenage in midweek. Tight matches have been the norm in the early stages for Bradford but with just one goal conceded so far, it appears as though their defence is more than capable of keeping the opposition at bay.

Making the trip to Valley Parade is a Forest Green Rovers side who will be pleased with how things have gone so far but who will be hoping to bounce back with a win as soon as possible following Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Port Vale. The visitors will be looking to build on a strong season last term which saw them earn a spot in the play-offs, and much like their hosts, their defence seems to be the foundation in which they will build from.

The hosts are the favourites to take the win in this match and, although we agree with this sentiment, there is plenty of risk in the win-draw-win market. Rather than take this on, we think there is more value in looking at the goal market, or rather lack of goals. Both of these sides have started the season with an attitude to keep things tight at the back and with Valley Parade seeing just three goals scored in the two league matches played there so far this season, we think that backing there to be less than 2.5 goals scored represents the best chance for a decent return.
