Tip Reasoning

  • Braga are unbeaten in nine Primeira Liga games with Benfica going seven games unbeaten.
  • Braga have lost just once at home this season with Benfica tasting defeat twice on the road.
  • Benfica have won 10 of the last twelve meetings between these two but Braga have won the last two encounters.

Two sides to cancel each other out

Braga and Benfica enter this game both on long unbeaten runs as they chase Champions League qualification next season. Sporting look to have the title sewn up but the other Champions League spot sees just three points between the two sides meeting this weekend and Porto.

Braga haven’t been beaten at home since the beginning of December and have been in great form in recent weeks going nine games unbeaten, winning seven of those. They are average just short of two goals a game this season but have conceded 23 times in 23 games as they struggle to keep clean sheets.

Benfica’s own unbeaten run extends to seven games with their last loss away from home coming at the beginning of February in a 1-0 defeat to champions elect, Sporting. Since then they have won four of their seven matches and closed the gap to their opponents this weekend to just two points.

With these two sides both trying to finish in the top two and both having unbeaten runs that they won’t be willing to lose, we think this could be a very tight game with neither looking to make the mistake that could cost them the three points. With that in mind, we’re backing this game to end in a draw with a forecast of a 0-0 scoreline.
