Tight encounter looks likely

It is developing into a tight race for the Portuguese title with four clubs separated by just two points and Braga and Benfica could prove difficult to separate when they clash on Sunday night.

The pair have ground to make up on Sporting Lisbon and Porto, but after both teams secured Europa League football for after Christmas, there will be little quarter given in this one.

Braga are up to fourth after taking 22 points from their last 24 but there have to be concerns about a defence who have conceded 20 goals in their 13 matches yet find themselves in a lofty position.

So Benfica could take something from the game and having drawn their last two against Moreirense and Farense, they may have to settle for a point again.

While the teams are difficult to separate, it should be a goal-filled event as Braga have conceded in eight of their last nine at home even though they have won 14 of their last 17 on their own patch.

Benfica, meanwhile have scored at least two goals in eight of their last ten league away games, so correct-score punters may be pointed towards a 2-2 final scoreline.
