Brest vs Auxerre Predictions

Brest are the best bet to beat Auxerre at home in Ligue 1 on Sunday, January 4th. The visitors have lost six times in their last eight away games and could be heading for another loss here.

Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season, with Brest sitting 11th having won five and Auxerre 16th with three wins from their 16 games.

Brest have lost just one of their last six home games in Ligue 1 and come into this match having won their last two.

They have been in goalscoring form recently, finding the net in their last four league games. They have scored at least twice in two of those matches, including a 3-2 win over Metz.

Auxerre are enduring a rough spell on the road, having failed to win any of their seven Ligue 1 away games this season. They have not won any of their last eight away games in the league and have only won one of their last ten matches overall.

Goals have not been easy to come by for Auxerre this season. No team has failed to score in more Ligue 1 games than Auxerre, who have gone seven games without finding the net in 16 appearances. They have blanked in four of their last six away games.

The visitors have been struggling defensively of late. Auxerre have yet to keep a clean sheet away from home this season, conceding 14 goals in seven games on the road in Ligue 1. They have now gone eight consecutive away games without keeping out the opposition.

A narrow 1-0 win for Brest looks the most likely outcome. In four of the last six Ligue 1 meetings between these sides at least one team failed to score, and Brest have won three of their last four league games by a single goal.
