Hosts can boost European hopes

Brest should be backed to beat Reims at home in Ligue 1 on Sunday. Eric Roy’s side take on a Reims team who have lost four of their last five away games in the league.

Brest are ninth in Ligue 1, six places and 14 points above Reims. The hosts have 11 wins, three draws and 11 defeats from their 25 games this season, while the visitors have five wins, seven draws and 13 losses.

Reims’ 2-0 defeat to Auxerre last weekend was their eighth loss in ten Ligue 1 games. This was a disappointing scoreline for Reims, who had been priced at 29/20 to win the game, and they were behind 2-0 at half time, the fifth game running that they’ve been losing at the interval.

Brest have avoided defeat in eight of their last nine Ligue 1 games against Reims, who are without a win in their last 14 matches. The visitors have lost eight of their last ten overall.

Brest have been impressive in front of goal at home this season, scoring 25 goals in Ligue 1. They have scored an average of over two goals a game in their seven home games against bottom-half teams this season.

Brest may be able to edge out Reims in a close game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Reims have lost their last three Ligue 1 away games and have gone down by a single goal six times this season.
