Burton Albion vs QPR Predictions
Burton have competed well so far in the Championship and may feel a little hard done by to have not accumulated more than 9 points from their opening 9 games. They come into this match following back-to-back defeats, although they were in tough games against Brighton and Norwich, two of the promotion favourites. They’ve conceded in the 88th minute or later in all of their last 3 matches and have dropped 3 points as a result. Their two wins so far have come at home though with Derby and Sheffield Wednesday both slipping to defeat at the Pirelli and they’ll fancy they can pick up a 3rd home win here.
This game sees Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink return to Burton, the club he left last season to join QPR. Things haven’t quite gone as smoothly as he might have liked in West London though and they come into this match in poor form. Since the international break they have picked up just 2 points from 4 Championship matches and also exited the League Cup against Sunderland. That 6-0 home defeat against Newcastle must have really got them re-assessing their targets this term, but they did at least avoid defeat at the weekend, drawing 1-1 with Birmingham at Loftus Road.
There isn’t much to choose between the teams here according to the bookies but Burton look the more likely winners. They’ve had a lot of tough fixtures so far but are yet to really be outclassed by anyone. Their 3-1 defeat at Norwich on Saturday was their first loss by more than 1 goal and they were down to 10 men when the Canaries netted their winner. This is perhaps their most winnable Championship fixture yet and with QPR not looking convincing right now and pretty low on confidence, the Brewers should have enough to bag the win.
Therefore, backing Burton Albion 0.0 Asian Handicap at 1.825 looks to offer value.
