Celtic and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Celtic are on a five-game winning streak and they should be able to make it six in a row against Championship side Dunfermline in the Cup final. However, the Pars have put a lot into this competition and have completed a couple of memorable giants killings on the way. Back Celtic to concede in victory as they have gone six games without a clean sheet and Dunfermline have enough quality to find a way through.

Celtic 4-1

Reason for tip

A Celtic win with goals at both ends is expected and a 4-1 win for the Glasgow club has a chance. There is a clear gulf in quality here, and the Bhoys may strike with a late goal or two if the Pars have to throw caution to the wind.

Daizen Maeda To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Daizen Maeda is the form man in the Celtic attack with eight goals in his last six games. He looks the best candidate for an anytime effort in the final.

Celtic vs Dunfermline Predictions

  • Celtic are on a five-game winning streak
  • The Bhoys have gone six games without a clean sheet
  • Dunfermline have beaten Hibs, Aberdeen and Falkirk on their way to the final

More silverware for Celtic

Celtic and Dunfermline Athletic meet in what looks a Scottish Cup Final mismatch on Saturday.

Celtic come into the game on the back of a sensational comeback title success. They chased down Hearts in the final stages of the campaign, and completed the job with a comeback 3-1 win over the Jambos on the final day of the Premiership season.

In contrast, Dunfermline need to pick themselves up again after play-off disappointment and the Championship side look unlikely to pull off an upset at Hampden.

However, the Pars have given a lot to this competition this season and they will look to compete against the Glasgow giants. The best angle could be backing Celtic to win and concede as they have conceded in nine of their last 10 games (W8, D1, L1) and Dunfermline have enjoyed plenty of success against Premiership sides in the cup so they look capable of getting on the scoresheet.

Ultimately, Celtic should be far too strong for their opponents and a 4-1 win for Martin O’Neill’s side seems a reasonable correct score pick as there is a clear gulf in quality between these two teams.

Daizen Maeda is comfortably the in-form man in the Celtic attack with eight goals in his last six games. He looks the best candidate for an anytime effort in the final.
