No Valley victory for Imps

Charlton have enjoyed success in ten of their last 11 home games in League One and they should be backed to beat Lincoln at The Valley on Saturday.

They are fourth in League One, eight places and 19 points above Lincoln. The hosts have won 21 of their 40 games this season, while Lincoln, in 12th, have 14 wins so far.

Charlton were 2-1 winners of a tightly contested game against Mansfield on Tuesday, in what was their seventh win in nine League One games. Charlton, priced at 6/5 to win, justified their position as favourites.

Charlton are in form at home, having gone 12 games without defeat, and are six points off the automatic promotion spots which will now be a target. They have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just 12 goals in 20 League One games – an average of 0.60 goals per game. The hosts have kept their opponents at bay in seven of their last nine on home soil.

Lincoln are out of form on the road. They have lost three consecutive League One away games and have sustained four defeats in their last five on their travels.

They have failed to score in their last two away games in League One, and they could struggle to find the net again at The Valley.

Lincoln have looked vulnerable in defence, conceding on each of their last three League One road trips.

The visitors have sustained two 1-0 defeats in a row, and this could finish the same way, with 15 of Charlton’s 21 victories this season coming by one goal.
