Juventus vs Napoli Predictions
Juventus are back to winning ways after losing at AC Milan last weekend. That defeat raised the prospect of a title race in Italy, which isn’t a regular occurrence. They face another potential challenger on Saturday, when Napoli visit Turin. Of course, the champions thought they had killed off any potential challenge when they swooped in and bought Napoli and Roma’s best players in the summer. Can Gonzalo Higuain score against his former side here?
Napoli have recorded back to back wins, following a three game losing run. That’s left them four points off leaders Juventus, but they’ll be aiming to close the gap this weekend. This game sees the joint best home record in Serie A up against the league’s second best away record.
Juventus have been fantastic in the last year in Serie A, they’ve won an impressive 34 from their last 38 in the league. They’re pushing for a sixth Scudetto in a row, and they’ve made a fantastic start. Eight wins from 10, including a 100% home record.
In fact, they’ve been dominating games at Juventus Stadium of late. In their last 11 league fixtures there. they’ve been ahead at the end of each half in 10. The Italian champions have scored 67% of their home league goals in the first half, while Napoli have conceded 75% of their goals away from home in the first half. We can see them dominating from the start here, so Juventus/Juventus on the half-time/full-time market looks like great value at 15/8 with bet365.
Of course, Higuain is going to be the focus here, as he takes on his former club. His £75million switch to the Old Lady last summer was a messy move, one which enraged Napoli fans. The only thing which could get to them more is if the Argentine forward found the net here. It feels almost inevitable that he’ll come back to haunt his former side. He’s priced at 5/6 to add to his six league goals so far this weekend.
However, our bet here is a home win. The champions are so dominant in this league, and their home record is brilliant. They’ve scored an average of three goals per game at their own ground, conceding just 0.8. They’ve won 21 straight league matches here, which dates back to early October 2015. Given that Napoli have won just 40% of their league away games this term, the hosts look to be great value at 4/5 with bet365.
