      Charlton to Win

      Reason for tip

Charlton have taken seven points from the last nine available and should get the better of injury-ravaged Portsmouth, who have only won twice on the road all season and are also the Championship’s lowest away scorers.

      Charlton 1-0

      Reason for tip

Charlton have kept three clean-sheets on the bounce and can edge past a Portsmouth side that struggle for goals on the road and have suffered back-to-back 1-0 defeats against Preston and Sheffield United.

      Charlton vs Portsmouth Predictions

      • Charlton have taken seven points from their last three Championship games
      • The Addicks have kept clean sheets in each of their last three matches
      • Portsmouth have suffered back-to-back 1-0 defeats

      Addicks steadying the ship

Charlton have taken seven points from the last nine available and they will expect to continue their rise away from the Championship relegation zone – and plunge Portsmouth deeper into trouble – when the two teams meet at The Valley on Tuesday.

The Addicks’ mid-season struggles – they won just twice in 14 games from early November to late January – appear to be behind them and their recent wins over Leicester and Stoke, as well as their draw with QPR, have all been accompanied by a clean-sheet.

      Injuries catching up with Pompey

Portsmouth have not won on their last three visits to The Valley and they will head into this game with their confidence perhaps knocked after back-to-back 1-0 defeats to Preston and Sheffield United.

Pompey have won just two of their 14 Championship away matches this season and are also the lowest scorers on the road, netting just nine times.

This could be another disappointing trip for John Mousinho’s side, who are dealing with an extensive injury list, with as many as four centre backs expected to be missing on Tuesday night.
