Cork City vs Shamrock Rovers Predictions

Rovers can rediscover golden touch

Shamrock Rovers suffered only their second League of Ireland defeat of the season at home to Drogheda last week, but they should get back to winning ways at Cork.

Rovers trail leaders Derry by a point but their defence has not been breached in their last six away games so that is an excellent omen for this trip.

Cork have found life a bit of a struggle in their first season in the top flight for three years and they will hope that last week’s 1-0 victory over Sligo will have given them a lift.

Avoiding relegation will be the priority for this campaign and while that victory lifted the gloom after six straight league defeats, this match looks a whole lot tougher.

It is difficult to see them laying a glove on their visitors.

Rovers have won 2-0 at Bohemians, St Patrick’s and Derry in the last six weeks and it would not be a huge surprise if we witnessed a similar story on Friday night.
