      Costa Rica vs Uruguay Predictions

Costa Rica aren’t in the best form of their lives. They have played ten games so far in 2015 and have failed to win any of them.

Five of these games have ended in defeat for the Costa Ricans, and it’s a stark contrast in results compared to last years performance when they went on a 12 match unbeaten streak.

They have held their own against some top quality sides to be fair to them though. They limited Brazil to a 1-0 win, and back in June put in a few good performances against Spain, Colombia, and Mexico.

Their defence is fairly solid as well, and doesn’t crumble once a goal is conceded. They haven’t lost by more than a single goal in 23 matches, which is a lot better than most of the top nations in the world. Although this does illustrate their lack of desire to win.

Uruguay played their first match since their elimination from this summer’s Copa America on Saturday.

Their 1-0 win over Panama echoed their dismal showing in South America’s major international tournament, with an 82nd minute goal from Christian Stuani getting Uruguay an undeserved victory.

Panama dominated possession and carried the majority of attacking threat despite being the underdogs.

This was Uruguay’s second win in their last five matches, and the absence of Luis Suarez is still very much apparent: They have only scored three goals in these five games.

The Under 2.5 Goals market is looking the most promising to me. All of Uruguay’s last five matches have ended with under three goals scored, and four of Costa Rica’s last five have also ended this way.

Backing a Costa Rica win at 21/10 looks like it could offer some good value, but the majority of my betting money is going on an Under 2.5 Goals bet at 7/10.
