Crawley Town vs Crewe Predictions

The best bet is both teams to score in Saturday’s League Two clash between Crawley and Crewe at Broadfield Stadium. Crewe have a strong attack, having scored 46 goals this season, and they take on a leaky Crawley defence who have shipped 47 goals in 29 games.

Crewe are ten places above Crawley in the table, with the two sides separated by 18 points. The hosts are 20th with six wins, eight draws and 15 defeats, while Crewe are tenth having won 12, drawn eight and lost ten.

Crawley beat Harrogate Town 2-0 last weekend in their last League Two home game, but their recent form has been inconsistent, with two wins and three defeats in the last six. Crewe have avoided defeat on six of their last seven visits to Crawley.

Both teams are struggling defensively. Crawley have conceded 47 goals this season in League Two – an average of 1.62 goals per game – while Crewe are on a run of seven away games without keeping a clean sheet.

Both teams have scored in plenty of the away team’s games this season, with five of Crewe’s last seven League Two matches seeing goals at both ends. However, Crewe won 1-0 last time they met Crawley in the league.

It would be a surprise if Crewe failed to find the net. Just three clubs have scored more than Crewe in League Two this term, and they have averaged 1.80 goals a game in their 15 matches against bottom-half teams.

Crawley may be able to edge out Crewe in a close game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Seven of Crewe’s ten League Two defeats have come by the odd goal.
