Lazio to Win

Reason for tip

Cremonese have yet to win a match in Serie A this season, picking up two points from their first six matches. Lazio, meanwhile, have only lost two of their eight games this season, with their only domestic defeat coming against Lazio.

Lazio 3-1

Reason for tip

Lazio have seen both teams score in six of their eight games this season, but had Serie A’s second-best attacking record last season. Since the restart, only five Serie A teams have outscored Sarri’s men.

Cremonese vs Lazio Predictions

  • Cremonese have failed to win a league game this season, posting two draws and four losses in Serie A.
  • The visitors have only lost twice in their eight matches this term.
  • Only five teams in Serie A have scored more goals than Lazio this season.

Biancocelesti must bounce back from Danish debacle

Lazio’s 5-1 Europa League defeat at Midtjylland on Thursday represented one of the low points of Maurizio Sarri’s reign, and the Biancocelesti are under heavy pressure to bounce back when they go to Cremonese on Sunday. The newly promoted hosts may represent an ideal opponent for the Eagles, however, after failing to win any of their six league games.

Indeed, Massimiliano Alvini’s side have posted back-to-back draws with Sassuolo and Atalanta in their last two outings, having lost their first four games since promotion. Cremonese have had to work hard for their return of two points, averaging just 44 per cent possession and only managing 20 shots on target all campaign, and may struggle to handle their wounded visitors.

Lazio’s loss in Denmark was just their second of the season in all competitions, the other being against early leaders Napoli. Sarri’s men have posted impressive results otherwise, beating Inter, Feyenoord and Verona in their last six games, and retain last season’s attacking edge. Only five teams have outscored them in Serie A this season, and just three have managed more shots on target. Sarri’s side will surely be motivated for atone for Thursday’s errors, and are heavy favourites.

Lazio worth backing

Despite Thursday’s result, Lazio should have more than enough to see off a winless Cremonese side, and after being priced at a shades of odds on, look decent value to do so.

However, the visitors have seen both teams net in six of their last eight games, making a 3-1 away win a potentially lucrative correct score prediction.
