Deportivo La Coruna vs Getafe Betting Tips & Predictions

Deportivo’s season was on a downward spiral long before their 8-0 humiliation at home to Barcelona 10 days ago. They recovered reasonably with a 1-1 draw at Eibar but a record of just 1 win from 20 matches in 2016 speaks volumes for their decline after a bright start to the season. They have 39 points and will guarantee their safety if they win this but are unlikely to need any more points in any case. However there will still be some serious soul searching this summer as if this form carries on into next season they could quickly find themselves in big trouble.

Getafe are in big trouble right now but they do have genuine hope even though are just 1 place off the bottom with 3 games to go. Juan Esnáider has inspired a big improvement in their performances. They won 2-1 at Real Sociedad before a 2-2 draw with Valencia last weekend when they dominated the game in truth and should have had several more goals. Their awful run of form prior to that is a bit of a mystery when you see them play like that and in the likes of Moi Gomez and Pablo Sarabia they have some really creative midfield players. Getafe’s run-in isn’t bad and they are just 1 point from safety going into the weekend so a win here would really boost their chances.

Depor are the clear favourites with the bookies but given they’ve only won once in 2016, there is no value whatsoever backing them. With Getafe looking much better in their last two games and given they have an excellent recent record against Deportivo, backing Double Chance – Draw or Getafe at 8/13 looks a very safe bet.
