Derby County vs Blackburn Rovers Predictions

Derby picked up a huge result on Saturday at Brentford. Trailing 1-0 with 10 minutes to go at Griffin Park they looked certain to be heading for an 8th game without a win in the league and most likely a 2nd defeat for new boss Darren Wassall. However a stirring late comeback saw the Rams win 3-1 and that will have given them a massive boost coming into this game. They find themselves back in 5th place and can further close the gap on the top two with 3 points here.

Blackburn were involved in the FA Cup at the weekend but it was another afternoon to forget for Paul Lambert and his side. They were beaten 5-1 by West Ham at Ewood Park despite taking the lead early on through Ben Marshall. They did win their last league game, beating Fulham 3-0 but had failed to win any of their 9 Championship matches prior to that.

      Reason for Betting Tips

Derby were stuck in a rut but they will come into this game with renewed belief and under a bit less pressure having ended their winless run in dramatic fashion at the weekend. Blackburn are a fairly limited side and although they should be able to pick up enough results to secure safety, it’s hard to see them troubling the Rams here. Backing Derby to win at 4/5 therefore looks a solid punt.

      Team News

Derby: Chris Martin and Tom Ince are pushing for recalls having come off the bench to help inspire Derby’s comeback at Brentford.

Blackburn: Grant Hanley, Jordi Gomez and the cup-tied Danny Graham are all likely to return having missed out in the FA Cup.
