Derby vs QPR Predictions
Derby took just 4 points from their opening 5 games of the season with some already questioning whether the appointment of Paul Clement was the right one. Since then though they have won 7 out of 9, drawing the other 2 and are playing with real confidence at the moment.
Their latest win was a convincing 3-0 victory at home to Rotherham on Saturday and it was the third home match in a row they had won by 2 goals or more. Given QPR have the worst defensive record outside of the bottom four and have lost all of their last 3 away games, you have to fancy Derby here to win by at least 2 goals again at appealing odds of 7/5.
The Londoners are currently 12th in the division, 5 points off the play-off places. They could really do with a big win over a strong side like Derby to get their season going again and restore some belief to what has been a troubled side for well over a year now.
They have at least looked a bit better defensively in recent weeks and the return of the experienced centre back Clint Hill certainly appears to have been the trigger. However whether at 37 his legs are up to playing a 2nd game in the space of 4 days is a question for Chris Ramsey to decide upon.
Either way you have to think Derby will have just too much for Rangers, who may be boosted by the return of Charlie Austin here. The prolific striker might not last the 90 minutes though and isn’t likely to get much in the way of opportunities against a County defence which has kept clean sheets in 3 of their last 4 home games.
If you’re looking for a correct score bet consider taking a punt on a 2-0 home win at odds of 13/2.
