Dinamo Zagreb vs AC Milan Predictions
- AC Milan have won six of their last nine games in all competitions, a run which includes a 3-1 triumph over Dinamo Zagreb on home soil last month.
- Stefano Pioli’s team have won two of their last three away games, the exception being a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea.
- Dinamo Zagreb have only won one of their last four games, and are winless in their last three Champions League outings.
Rossoneri need a win
Back-to-back defeats to Graham Potter’s Chelsea have left AC Milan desperately scrambling to avoid an early Champions League elimination; they approach Tuesday’s trip to Dinamo Zagreb tied with the Croatian outfit on four points in Group E, requiring a win to keep pace with Chelsea and RB Salzburg. While the Serie A champions have not excelled in Europe this term, they did beat Dinamo last month, and a double could well be on the cards.
Indeed, Milan have won six of their last nine games in all competitions, including a 3-1 win over Dinamo at San Siro. Stefano Pioli’s team crushed Monza 4-1 on Saturday to keep pace with Serie A leaders Napoli, and have won eight of their first 11 league games during a fine start. On the road, the Rossoneri have won two of their last three games – the exception being a defeat at Chelsea – and they should have too much about them for Dinamo on Tuesday.
Dinamo are winless in their last three European outings after their shock opening-matchday win over Chelsea accounted for the end of Thomas Tuchel’s Blues tenure. A league draw at Hajduk Split last time out, meanwhile, means they have won just one of their last four games, and they have gone seven games without a clean sheet. In the Champions League’s group stages, meanwhile, only six teams have scored fewer goals (three) and only two (Rangers and Copenhagen) have amassed fewer expected goals (2.5xG), making it tough to see them challenging Milan.
Milan set for crucial victory
Given Dinamo’s poor run, we’re backing Milan to finally take their Serie A form onto the continental front, clinching a crucial win to put themselves in the mix for qualification ahead of the final matchday.
Meanwhile, a 2-1 away victory could represent a decent correct score prediction – both teams have scored in six of Dinamo’s last seven games, and in eight of Milan’s last 11.
