      Doncaster vs MK Dons Predictions

      • Only Peterborough have accumulated more home shots on target than Doncaster in League 1 this term.
      • MK Dons are without a league win since mid-September. They’ve since lost ten out of 11 matches.
      • Only two teams in the division have scored less away goals than MK Dons this season.

      Doncaster look to bounce back

Given that they impressed at pretty much every turn on route to reaching the play-offs last season, Doncaster have underwhelmed this time around. It was always going to difficult for Darren Moore to emulate Grant McCann’s achievements and it’s fair to say that he’s so far fallen short. Donny currently sit in a disappointing 14th place. A far cry from last term, where they were in and around the play-offs for much of the campaign.

Fortunately, Doncaster’s best work has come at Keepmoat Stadium, where they’ve won five, drawn two and lost two, scoring 15 and conceding ten in the process. Such numbers aren’t overly impressive, but they’re certainly not poor. What’s more, the hosts have a huge opportunity to pick up three points as they’re going up against MK Dons, who are desperately out of form.

The fact that Donny are good at getting on the front foot and putting teams under pressure bodes well ahead of a match against a visiting side that has often crumbled away from home.

Struggling Dons desperate for a win

MK Dons are in a bad way, there’s no denying it. The Buckinghamshire club would’ve been hoping to avoid a repeat of what happened at the end of the 17/18 campaign, but as things stand, it looks like they’ll once again be plying their trade in League 2 come the start of next season.

It was always going to be a big ask for Russell Martin, who took his first managerial job by replacing Paul Tisdale a month ago, to change The Dons’ fortunes. As it turns out, it’s a very big ask. Since taking the reins, Martin has overseen one win and four losses. Unfortunately for him, the win wasn’t in the league, which means that MK Dons are winless in no less than 11 League 1 matches.

When playing away from home, MK Dons big problem is scoring goals. They’ve failed to score in each of their last four travelling matches in League 1, which does not bode well ahead of a game against an offensively astute Donny outfit.

      Gilt-edged chance for Donny

Much to the disappointment of their followers, MK Dons are a side that is there for the taking. Doncaster are a better side, especially in the final third, and are backed to get the job done. In the betting, punters are pointed towards ‘Doncaster to Win & Under 3.5 Goals’. MK Dons’ lack of goals suggest that they’re unlikely to compete offensively on Saturday, but for all they are weak, they’ve tended to avoid complete pastings in recent away games, losing each of their last five on the road by scores of 1-0, 1-0, 2-0, 1-0 and 2-1. Add in that Donny have only score more than twice one and are yet to score more three, a relatively low-scoring home win stands out as the best option.
