Eastleigh vs Dagenham and Redbridge Predictions

This week’s instalment of football from the National League on BT Sport comes from the Silverlake Stadium as Eastleigh welcome Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday lunchtime. Although we are still early in the campaign, it is fair to say the season has not gone to plan for either side, which makes the three points essential for each of them if they are to get back on track.

The hosts go into this match having failed to win any of their previous five outings, but perhaps even more concerning for the management is there inability to find the back of the net as they scored just once in those same five matches. With just eight goals scored all season, it is a problem which has followed them around since the opening game of the campaign.

Fortunately for Eastleigh, they are facing off against a side who only hold a marginal advantage in the goals scored column as their visitors have managed just 10 goals in their 11 league matches so far. However, given that Dagenham have finally started to show a bit of form, they come into this match with two wins and two draws from their previous four matches, they will certainly fancy their chances of claiming all three points.

Although we do fancy the visitors to claim the victory, the presence of the BT Sport cameras may just inspire the hosts to up their game, which makes the win-draw-win market a tricky prospect. With the lack of offensive output these two sides have offered in the opening months of the season so far, it is clear where the smart money can be found. With this in mind, it should not come as a shock to anybody to learn that we are backing there to be less than 2.5 goals scored.
