Ecuador vs Peru Predictions

• Ecuador failed to beat Venezuela in their last game and are now four matches without a win.

Peru to secure their passage to the last eight

Peru earned three vital World Cup Qualifying points against Ecuador in Quito earlier this month and La Blanquirroja are backed to confirm that form in Goias this Wednesday.

Ecuador are certainly questionable favourites here based on that 1-2 defeat alone, and they’re readily opposed for this Group B encounter after failing to see off a depleted Venezuela side in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday (2-2).

That result has left them bottom of the section and scrambling to avoid a premature exit from the competition, and they realistically need to win this game to ensure they reach the last eight.

Tricolor are without a victory in four though, and Peru should be full of confidence following their triumph in Quito and a tremendous 1-2 success over Colombia at the weekend.

It was a fine response from Ricardo Gareca’s men after a 4-0 mauling at the hands of Brazil in their opening match, and while a draw would be a decent result for them here, we think Peru’s attacking flair and guile can land them all three points in Goias to secure their passage to the quarter-finals.
