Edinburgh City vs Falkirk Predictions
- Falkirk thrashed League Two Albion Rovers 5-1 earlier in the competition.
- Edinburgh City have managed just one point and one goal in three League Cup games.]
- Edinburgh City have lost four of their last six home games.
Bairns can bounce back from Accies loss
Falkirk will be looking to get their Scottish League Cup bid back on track on Wednesday after a disappointing defeat to Hamilton at the weekend.
The Bairns opened up a 1-0 lead over the Championship club early in the second half but were reduced to 10-men on 78 minutes as defender Gary Miller was dismissed.
The Accies then scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to turn the game around but Falkirk should be able to get back to winning ways when they travel to fourth tier Edinburgh City on Wednesday.
Falkirk overcame League Two Albion Rovers 5-1 in their opening fixture and a strong performance against Hamilton, despite the defeat, suggests they should be too strong for Edinburgh City.
The Citizens have just one point to show from their three games so far and failed to score in defeats to Hamilton and Ayr, before losing to Albion on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Falkirk remain well placed to challenge for one of the top two spots in Group E with three points from two games so far and they should have the quality to come away from Meadowbank with all three points.
As Paul Sheerin’s side have already comfortably beaten League Two opponents in this competition we feel they can get the better of Edinburgh City with a -1 handicap. The hosts have scored just one goal in their three League Cup games so far and with that in mind a 3-0 win for the visitors has a chance in the correct score market.
