Liverpool and Both Teams To Score

      Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in eight of Eintracht Frankfurt’s last nine games and a repeat of that looks likely considering the defensive struggles of the Bundesliga side and Liverpool this season. The Reds should come out on top however.

      Eintracht Frankfurt vs Liverpool Predictions

      • Frankfurt have lost and both teams have scored in three of their last seven games
      • Hugo Ekitike has five goals in seven starts for Liverpool this season

Liverpool need to turn things around

rivals Manchester United at the weekend and they desperately need to turn things around as they visit Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Reds have been a touch unlucky to lose the four matches that they have, winning the expected goals battle in three of those, but it is hard to shake the notion that this team is currently a shadow of the one which lifted the Premier League title last season.

Arne Slot’s team have looked too open at the back and disjointed in attack, with Alexander Isak struggling to replicate the success that he had at Newcastle after a disrupted preseason.

Mo Salah has also failed to live up to his record-breaking campaign last term and new signing Florian Wirtz has struggled to make an impact.

Hosts tend to be wide open

However Liverpool’s main issues have come against teams who sit in a low-block and that will not be the case when they visit Frankfurt.

The German side, from whom the Reds signed Hugo Ekitike this summer, have been one of the most exciting to watch in Europe this season as their games often descend into end-to-end affairs.

Their ten matches in all competitions have produced a whopping 54 goals, and the lowest-scoring game that they have been a part of is a 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich before the international break.

Frankfurt beat Galatasaray 5-1 in their Champions League opener and followed that with a defeat by the exact same scoreline at the hands of Atletico Madrid so they are a team whose games you cannot afford to miss.

Particular players to look out for include youngster Can Uzun, who has six goals and four assists already this season, and the clinical striker Jonathan Burkardt, who has six goals in eight starts.

18 goals conceded in seven Bundesliga matches tells a story of its own though and they may struggle here.

      Ekitike could haunt former team

Frankfurt’s end-to-end style will suit a Liverpool team who have been desperate for teams to open up against them. Slot’s side can bounce back from what has been a disappointing run with a victory on their travels, although both teams finding the net looks like a given considering the defensive issues that this pair have experienced this season.

Side with both teams to score and Liverpool to win what should be another Frankfurt thriller.

Considering how high-scoring Frankfurt’s games have been this season, a 3-1 win for Liverpool is the correct score pick.

Hugo Ekitike has five goals in just seven starts for the Reds and he could come back to haunt his former team in this one.
