Estonia vs Norway Predictions
Norway play their first match since the disappointing play-off defeat to Hungary in the Autumn. That came following improved performances as they beat Croatia and were narrowly beaten in Italy so they will be keen to get back on track here as they start to build towards the World Cup qualifying campaign. Per-Mathias Hogmo continues as Head Coach despite that failure to qualify but will be under pressure if he cannot secure a positive result here against Estonia and again next week when they host Finland.
Estonia were in the same qualifying group as England and were fairly solid defensively only conceding 3 goals in the 2 games against England, who ran away with the group. However the humiliation of failing to beat perennial whipping boys San Marino will be what Estonia’s campaign is best remembered for. They did though pick up a couple of morale boosting 3-0 wins at home to Georgia and St Kitts in November friendlies so they come into this game with a bit of confidence at least and they drew 1-1 with Sweden in January although the Swedes were missing many players.
Estonia’s recent home record is actually quite strong. They’ve won 4 of their last 5 home internationals and have suffered only 1 defeat in 7 on home soil. Their only defeats in the last 2 years were both 1-0 losses against England and Switzerland and Norway are probably a bit short on quality in comparison to those 2 sides. Therefore consider backing Estonia Double Chance at 5/6 here.
